Karyn and Kevin Schwitters are both Rockford natives who are dedicated to being engaged with the community in ways that help make a positive impact. This dedication is why they are so excited to be able to dance in support of Family Counseling Services. They are proud to be raising two wonderful children: Annalyce who is 8, and Wesley who will soon turn 4. Kevin is employed as an English teacher at Harlem High School and also serves as the Camp Director for the popular Rock and Roll Institute in Rockford. As a musician himself, he has been playing guitar and singing in local bands for over two decades. Karyn is a child and family therapist. She owns her own practice housed in the Waterside building on the river, and she also works three mornings a week at Family Counseling Services. She is passionate about increasing awareness about trauma informed care within the region and has initiated and been involved with many efforts to do so. She started the Rockford ACES Community Collaborative and is an active member of the Winnebago County Trauma Informed Community, as well as the Trauma Informed Film Series.
