Jeff was born in Worthington, Minnesota and moved to Rockford when he was ten years old. He attended Rockford Lutheran where he was twice named All-State for golf and graduated in 2007. He continued his education at Illinois State University where he played for the golf team and studied history and politics. Jeff was named all conference three times and an Academic All-American twice while a Redbird. Upon graduating in 2011 he turned professional and went on to compete all over the country for the next five years, including appearances in Golf Digest Magazine and tying a world record held by three others by birdieing 9 consecutive holes in a professional event. Jeff is now the assistant golf professional at The Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Club where he won assistant player of the year in 2018. He also founded his own teaching company VIrtus Golf and Performance in 2019. Jeff considers convincing Sierra to marry him as his greatest accomplishment.
Sierra was born and raised in Rockford, the oldest of four sisters. She attended Rockford Lutheran High School where she was a member of the state championship women’s soccer team in 2007 and graduated in 2009 . Sierra then went on to play college soccer and study Psychology at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. At Augustana Sierra was named to the Deans list en route to graduation. Sierra continued her education at Denver Seminary where she earned a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling in 2016. Sierra has always been passionate about helping others and returned to serve her community in 2016 as the project manager for the Winnebago County Family Violence Coordinated Courts. In late 2018 she took a new position for the Mayor’s Office as the project manager for the Family Peace Center of Rockford, an initiative to improve services for victims of domestic violence in. In her free time Sierra is a coach at Orange Theory Fitness, loves to workout, and spend time with friends and family.
Lisa Johnson is a Rockford native and graduate of Rockford East High School. She has 2 children, Christopher 18, a graduate of Guilford High School, Gabrielle 14, a freshman at Guilford and a 4 year old Red Heeler cattle dog named Shelby. She enjoys time with her family, playing Frisbee with Shelby, cooking, watching movies, doing anything creative and vacationing. Her favorite place to relax is on a beach and she plans on retiring close to the water. She is also a graduate of RockValley College, Mayo School of Health Science, Northern Illinois University and the University of St. Francis. Lisa has worked in health care all her career with 25 years at OSF. She has held various positions, most recently as the Northern Region Director of Business Development for OSF Healthcare. Lisa loves dancing but not in front of an audience. As a strong supporter of the Rockford community and past board director and president of FCS, she decided to get over her fear for a good cause. If Lisa ends up with a dance related injury, she has requested transport by OSF Lifeline Ambulance to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.
Jarid grew up in Belvidere Illinois. He attended UW Whitewater, and in 2002 earned a BS in Economics and Organizational Communications. Jarid is currently the Vice President of Business and Investor Relations for the Rockford Area Economic Council, networking and collaborating with local governments and businesses to create opportunity for growth in our economy and work force development. Jarid was elected to the Rock Valley Board of Trustees and serves as the Secretary. An avid golfer, Jarid is a member of the Aldeen Men’s Golf Association and is a 3rd generation scow sailor, racing every weekend he can.
Gayle and Ellwyn are both Rockford natives. Shortly after they were married they lived in Germany and England for several years but returned to their hometown when they started their family. They have two grown daughters and two grandchildren. They share a love of music, biking, skiing, and have been known to dance the night away any chance they get!
The Englofs are now retired. Ellwyn was a an engineering manager at Ingersoll, Sundstrand, and Ingenium Technologies and Gayle owned and operated the Home Environment Center for 18 years. They currently volunteer with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, the Rockford Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the Natural Land Institute.
The Englofs are excited to make a difference in the well-being of families in our community by supporting Family Counseling Services as they Dance with the Rockford Stars!
Thomas and Krystle Weightman are both Rockford Natives who are active in the community and dedicated to making a positive impact on those around them. They have been married for 7 years and have 2 children, Alivia (6) and Easton (3) who keep them on their toes. Tom is an Investment Manager with The Gummow Wealth Advisory Group of Wells Fargo Advisors and Krystle is employed at Mercy Health as a Registered Nurse.
In their free time they enjoy spending time with their family and friends and they love to entertain. We feel very blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives. We volunteer for many local non for profits and are always looking to help out a good cause and give back in any way we can.
Tom and Krystle are honored to dance for such an amazing cause in Family Counseling Services. Krystle has some background in dance as she was in lessons from a young age until high school and then joined the Poms Dance Team. Tom on the other hand…we will let that speak for itself. Music and dance are at the center of their family and as their daughter, Alivia, would say “Let’s get this party started”.
Mike Rans was born in Logansport, IN and located to Rockford in 2008 to serve as the President of Kinkelder North America in Machesney Park. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife Jen, their children Jacob and Maddie, and their pets Winston the cat and Lt. Dan the dog. Mike is an avid golfer and can usually be found on the links in his spare time.
Maddie Rans was born in Columbia, TN and is currently a 7th grader at Rockford Christian where she has attended since Kindergarten. She is actively involved in sports and plays basketball, volleyball and golf. In her spare time Maddie loves to create I-movies with her friends and also has a passion for generating computer based interior designs.
Dan Conness is a lifelong resident of the Rockford area. He has been very involved in the community as a City Of Rockford Alderman 1993-2009 and is currently serving his third term as Rockford Township Highway Commissioner 2009 to present. He was also the cities liaison to the Metro Centre board 1997-2005 and served on many other local boards and committees.
Sheri De Rosso is a Rockford native that has made Rockford her home once again since 2015. She has been very involved with marketing and business management solutions throughout her career and is the Director of Operations at Northern Illinois Optical since 2015. She volunteers and supports community involvement and enjoys music, art and writing.
